It is always a shame when a band is forced to cancel a tour. Fans are inevitably disappointed and face a load of hassle getting ticket money refunded and perhaps losing cash as a result of hotel bookings and travel arrangements having to be cancelled. Sadly U.S. rock band Nickleback have today been forced to cancel all 35 dates on the European leg of their tour. This includes all eight UK dates.
In a press announcement made this morning Live Nation said that, Multi-platinum selling rock band NICKELBACK is forced to cancel all remaining dates for the 2015 No Fixed Address Tour due to an extended period of vocal rest ordered for lead singer Chad Kroeger. Kroeger, who was diagnosed with an intracordal cyst on his voice box in June, recently underwent surgery and must remain on vocal rest as ordered by doctors for the next six to nine months in order to fully recuperate. Ticket refunds will be available at the point of purchase.
Nickelback cancelled the second leg of the 2015 North American tour in June when doctor’s first diagnosed Kroeger with an operable cyst on his vocal cords. They were scheduled to resume the European leg of the tour in September, but while the medical team is pleased with the results of the surgery, it was revealed that Kroeger will require an extended period of recovery in order to heal completely.
“Most of all, we are sorry to miss our fans out on the road this fall, but Chad’s health, healing and full recovery are what is most important right now. With the proper amount of time, we hope to have him back stronger and better than ever before. We thank everyone for their support and understanding during this time and look forward to getting back out on the road and playing music for everyone again real soon.”
