Frank Turner Drops New EP And Video

If you have never managed to catch Frank Turner in concert it really is an experience you should not miss out on.  Over the past few years Frank has managed to move from being a cult musician into a fully fledged British British musical hero.

Turner is always passionate whether he is playing live with his band, playing solo ar recording music.  Simply put Frank Turner is one of the most engaging performers you are ever likely to come across.

Frank has just dropped a new five-track EP hot on the heels of  his critically acclaimed Positive Songs For Negative People album.  The video for the title track really showcases Frank’s talent as he demonstrates the passion he brings to his live work in a simple acoustic video.  Check it out. It is worth your time.

About The Sound of Summer

Hi, I am Alan. I live in Broadstone, Dorset with my wife, Shirley, my son, Ryan and two dogs called Bailey and Jasper. I have recently retired after working in the Armed Forces and in Public Service since 1977 so I now have a bit more time to do the things I love. Music is a huge part of my life and always has been. I have a broad taste in music and can find something to enjoy in most styles of music. I have always been attracted to music which has something to say, is outside the mainstream and is perhaps a bit rebellious. I guess my early influences were late 1970's Punk and new wave bands, especially those who came out of Northern Ireland where I grew up. I loved Stiff Little Fingers, The Undertones, Rudi, Starjets etc but also bands like The Ramones, The Clash, The Jam and so on. I like singer songwriters including Van Morrison, Springsteen, Neil Young & Bob Dylan and in recent years I have become more interested in folk and acoustic music but I also love the sort of high drive energetic Folk/Punk music delivered by bands like The Levellers, Leatherat, Ferocious Dog and many others who frequent the UK Festival scene. I have long since lost the desire to spend my holidays laying around in the sun and these days am much more likely to be found in a muddy field somewhere in the UK during the festival season.

    Good article.

Love the new EP – a great acoustic reworking of Mittens, the 3 new Frank songs and my current favourite the wonderful cover of The Armadillo. Was lucky to see this performed live at Union Chapel. A definite Goosebumps moment

Each of Frank’s shows is amazing – whether intimate like New Slang, The Monarch or Union Chapel or large room like Ally Pally. He gives his all and we love him for it!

I don’t know how many times I have seen Frank over the last decade but I do know I have never come away from a gig disappointed. A true 100% every single time and a really nice guy to boot
