About The Sound of Summer

Hi, I am Alan. I live in Broadstone, Dorset with my wife, Shirley, my son, Ryan and two dogs called Bailey and Jasper. I have recently retired after working in the Armed Forces and in Public Service since 1977 so I now have a bit more time to do the things I love. Music is a huge part of my life and always has been. I have a broad taste in music and can find something to enjoy in most styles of music. I have always been attracted to music which has something to say, is outside the mainstream and is perhaps a bit rebellious. I guess my early influences were late 1970's Punk and new wave bands, especially those who came out of Northern Ireland where I grew up. I loved Stiff Little Fingers, The Undertones, Rudi, Starjets etc but also bands like The Ramones, The Clash, The Jam and so on. I like singer songwriters including Van Morrison, Springsteen, Neil Young & Bob Dylan and in recent years I have become more interested in folk and acoustic music but I also love the sort of high drive energetic Folk/Punk music delivered by bands like The Levellers, Leatherat, Ferocious Dog and many others who frequent the UK Festival scene. I have long since lost the desire to spend my holidays laying around in the sun and these days am much more likely to be found in a muddy field somewhere in the UK during the festival season.

Backstage rumors are suggesting that Paige’s WWE career is over, and that Both Styles and Reigns are set for major character changes.

WWE RUMORS: WHY THE ‘SUPERSTAR SHAKEUP’ PUTS ROMAN REIGNS HEEL TURN OFF THE CARD FOR GOOD

WWE superstar Roman Reigns is the man the WWE universe loves to hate. Reigns arrived on the WWE network with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose as part of “The Shield” way back in 2012. Since then Vince McMahon has shown that he is determined to make Reigns the face of the WWE, in short, the “Big Dog” is McMahon’s “golden boy.” Despite a starring role on Monday Night Raw, the WWE universe has failed to warm to Reigns, who is booed every time he enters the ring.

WWE DRAFT RUMORS: ‘SUPERSTAR SHAKEUP’ BOOST ‘MONDAY NIGHT RAW’ AT ‘SMACKDOWN’S’ EXPENSE?

The WWE Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live shows in the aftermath of WrestleMania are always fascinating, and this year is no exception. The WrestleMania 33 results suggested that we had seen something of a changing of the guard. Roman Reigns vs. The Undertaker saw a victory for Reigns, and The Undertaker announced his retirement by leaving his hat, coat, and gloves, in the ring as he departed the arena. SmackDown star AJ Styles, defeated Shane McMahon and then extend the hand of friendship to McMahon, seemingly bring their WrestleMania 33 feud to an end.

WWE RUMORS: ROMAN REIGNS AND AJ STYLES SET FOR FACE TURNS AND AN EPIC FEUD?

Roman Reigns and AJ Styles are two of the WWE networks most important assets. Reigns is hardly the WWE’s most popular superstar. The “Big Dog” is booed every time he enters the ring, and logic would dictate that, his beating The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33, effectively retiring the Deadman, will do little to boost his popularity. Reigns has been pushed as the face of Monday Night Raw for some time. Where Reigns has now been a WWE wrestling star for over five-years, AJ Styles is a relative newcomer to the WWE network.

John Cena News: WWE Proposals For Post WrestleMania Engagements For Cena And Bella

When John Cena returned to the WWE network after a lengthy hiatus, he came right back to the top of the card. Cena’s first match back, after a break to make movies, was against AJ Styles at the 2017 Royal Rumble. That match saw Cena equal Ric Flair’s record of 16 world championship titles. Cena’s hold on the title did not last for long, he lost it to Bray Wyatt at the Elimination Chamber just two-weeks later.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, some in the WWE universe believed that Cena was only given such a high-profile match because of his connections to the McMahon family through Nikki Bella. SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan is Bella’s step-father. To be fair, Cena and Bella didn’t exactly receive top-billing at WrestleMania 33. One would have expected the 16-time world champion to be involved in a high-profile bout. The fans certainly wanted to see Cena face The Undertaker.

ON THE UNDERTAKER’S RETIREMENT AT WWE ‘WRESTLEMANIA 33’, HIS BEST EVER MATCHES

The Undertaker is quite simply the biggest name of them all when it comes to the WWE, and to professional wrestling in general. The fact that almost all the reporting, on last night’s WrestleMania 33, is about The Undertaker’s retirement, speaks volumes about The Deadman’s popularity. Of course, many in the WWE universe will lament The Undertaker’s retirement. The “Taker of Souls” has been one of the WWE’s top stars for almost three-decades. As reported earlier on the Inquisitr, with time running out on the 52-year-old Undertaker’s career, it was perhaps inevitable, and appropriate that he should take his final bow at WrestleMania.
