Festival No. 6 Adds A Surprise Fourth Headliner

Festival No. 6 has this morning made a surprise and doubtless welcome announcement.  As if the line-up wasn’t already good enough the festival have announced that Mancunian indie rockers JAMES will co-headline Sunday night at this years Festival.

James join Metronomy, Grace Jones and Belle & Sebastian in headlining the unique boutique festival based in beautiful Portmeirion, Wales.  Supported by up and coming stars like James Bay and Catfish and the Bottlemen and British Sea Power this years festival No. 6 has arguably the best and most eclectic musical line-up of any small festival on this years circuit.

Jim Glennie from James echoed the thoughts of many when he said ‘I love Portmeirion and I can’t believe we are going to play a gig there. The festival looks amazing. Can’t wait.”

This year will be the fourth edition of Festival No. 6 and they are celebrating by rewarding festival goers with its best line-up to date.  Festival No. 6 prides itself on being about much more than just the music it provides an intimate, bespoke banquet of music, arts and culture taking place across the whole site.  Portmeirion provides a totally unique backdrop for the festival and the festival aims to make full use of the site to provide a unique and immersive festival experience.

This years festival is taking place over the weekend of the 3-6 September when those lucky enough to grab a ticket will be treated to an eclectic mix of Male Voice Choirs, supported by the likes of Mercury Prize winner Badly Drawn Boy and rapper Kate Tempest.

FESTIVAL NO.6 Complete This Years Headline Line-up With Metronomy

Wales best kept secret Festival No.6 announced the name of their third headliner for this years festival.

Devon based new wave, experimental electropop pioneers Metronomy join legendary diva Grace Jones and Scotland’s favourite indie pop darlings Belle & Sebastian, to complete an eclectic trio of headliners that truly offers something for every festival fan.

Festival No.6 prides itself on offering festival fans something different and Metronomy bring a whole new dimension to No.6’s best line-up to date.

Festival director Luke Huxham said that “Metronomy strike a great balance with Grace Jones and Belle & Sebastian, it’s the perfect blend of genres and musical textures and more importantly it’s going to make for a fantastic party vibe every single day of the festival.”

Joe Mount of Metronomy shared Huxham’s excitement and is delighted to be playing this years festival which is based in idyllic surroundings in Portmeirion, Mount said “After 18 months of touring Love Letters it felt like we needed to find the perfect setting for our final show, I believe we have found it! We can’t wait to play at Festival No. 6.”

Also joining the bill is wunderkind Mark Ronson delivering a huge party DJ set, post-punk indie eccentrics British Sea Power, BBC Sound of 2015 Winners Years & Years and lauded ambient electronic trio Haelos.

Festival No.6 is now in it’s fourth year and has already built up a loyal following of festival fans who enjoy its intimate atmosphere and stunning surroundings.  The festival offers an eclectic choice of music with something for everyone, but Festival No. 6 set out from its beginnings to offer more and the range of arts and cultural events taking place offers the festival fan a totally unique experience.

Festival No.6. Set in the picturesque fantasy location of Portmeirion, an Italian style village on the Welsh coast, the Snowdonia National Park and Cardigan Bay provide the backdrop and make the site the most impressive festival location you are ever likely to see.

Acts will perform across the entire site, by the whimsical Italianate architecture of the village, the historic town hall, piazza, Bristol Colonnade, the picturesque Estuary stage, the atmospheric woods and the promenade along the River Dwyryd.

With an incredible line-up of DJ’s including man of the moment Mark Ronson, talks and discussions with the like of Chris Difford and Dom Joly and with many more music acts, arts & culture and new venues yet to be revealed, the fourth Festival No.6 is certain to be the most impressive to date.

To complete a totally unique festival experience you will be able to visit pop up champagne bars, feast on oysters and even treat yourself to a gourmet meal cooked by one of the Michelin starred chefs who will be in attendance.
