GOD DAMN REVEAL ‘THRILLER’-INSPIRED VIDEO FOR NEW NEW SINGLE ‘IT BITES’

Gnarly punk-rock trio God Damn have shared a tongue-in-cheek video for infectious brand new track ‘It Bites’ via DIY today. The single release follows the band’s critically acclaimed 2016 album ‘Everything Ever’, which saw them support rock giants Foo Fighters and embark upon extensive tours with Red Fang, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes and more, while Daniel P. Carter (R1), NME, Kerrang!, Clash and DIY championed the album.

The riotous zombie-themed video follows on from the similarly horror-tinged video for previous single ‘Dead To Me’, and features lead guitarist Thom as a flesh-eating zombie. The idea was inspired by iconic Michael Jackson video / short film ‘Thriller’, as well as ‘Everybody’ by Backstreet Boys. Ash explains: “I remember the original idea came to me just after Halloween time, and I thought to coincide with the song title, the video should involve some sort of biting – I really wanted to emphasise that.

“At the time I was thinking more down the route of a vampire or werewolf character/s going around biting people who would then turn into versions of us, the band, so eventually everyone looks like us, and we are taking over. When the idea was put forward to Tim (Mobbs, director) he took it and ran with it, and came up with this great storyline of Thom as a zombie, which also links in with the ‘Dead to Me’ video that we released last year.

“We filmed it over 2 days. One day in Birmingham filming the out and about scenes (woods, park, British Legion club, cake scene). The following day we took it back home to Wolverhampton where we filmed the van scene and the live footage. Both days were really enjoyable and loads of fun. The hardest part for me was keeping a straight face, when I watch the video back I find it even more hilarious because I know that for most of my scenes, 10 seconds before I was probably laughing my head off.”

MORE INFORMATION:

Produced by Ross Orton (The Fall, Drenge, Tricky, MIA) and recorded at McCall Sound Studio in Sheffield, ‘Everything Ever’ sounds everything like God Damn, and yet nothing like Vultures – a debut album that came inspired by more than a handful of demons – and simultaneously rocketed the duo onto grand festival stages, and stadium gigs across the UK. The album is upbeat (“these are still nasty songs though”, Thom insists), and unabashedly pop, in the same way Nirvana’s Nevermind was ‘pop’: prizing the value of a tune, and using artfully crafted verses and choruses to slip past your defences and detonate little stories when you least expect it.

Pulled Apart by Horses Drop New Video – ‘The Haze’

pulledapartbyhorses.com | facebook.com/pulledapartbyhorses | twitter.com/PABH

Leeds’s Pulled Apart By Horses have announced their new album, The Haze, for release on March 17th 2017 via Caroline International.

Having recently shared their first new music since 2014’s Blood LP in ‘The Big What If’, dubbed “an instant mosh-pit maker” by the NME, Pulled Apart By Horses today reveal the new album’s opening and title track.

“We had to have ‘The Haze’ as the album opener – it gets down to business pretty quick!” vocalist and guitarist Tom Hudson reveals. “One of my favourite sections on the album is the Kraut-rock-vibe middle eight in this track. We wrote and demoed it in our ‘middle of no-where’ Welsh writing session, the weird atmospheric sounds at the start of it were recorded outside the lodge we were in. There were these giant whirring fans and birds tweeting everywhere. The bell that opens the album was this little brass doorbell that was hanging up in the porch too.”

“With the third album [2014’s Blood], we were making a conscious effort to think about everything and really analyse what makes good songs work,” explains bassists Robert Lee. “This time around we wanted to get back to the spontaneity of the first record, to just hang out and have fun and see what happened, so we wanted to take ourselves away from our usual practise room, find a new space, both literally and metaphorically, and just immerse ourselves in music for fun once again.”

“Basically,” says vocalist/guitarist Tom Hudson, “we wanted to go with our guts and fuck everyone else.”

Pulled Apart by Horses ‘The Haze’ And Tour Dates

To facilitate this, at the beginning of 2016 the members of Pulled Apart By Horses, Tom Hudson, guitarist James Brown, Robert Lee and new drummer Tommy Davidson, an old friend recruited from Leeds noise rockers These Monsters, decamped from their lock-up rehearsal facility in their native Leeds to a tiny, remote cottage on a dairy farm in the Welsh countryside for 10 days.

“When we first got to the cottage we thought ‘There’s nothing to do here!’” says James. “But that was precisely the point. There was no internet, no emails, no-one checking how we were getting on. We were writing for no-one but ourselves. We became like a little family – cooking for one another, building fires, holding late-night karaoke competitions – and completely immersed ourselves in the music.”

“One of the biggest influences in writing this new album was the new line up”, Rob reveals. “We’ve known Tommy for many years, and he’s created a whole new level of creative spirit within the band.” “Tommy has a different style of drumming – he’s a bit more hard-hitting, like a Dave Grohl / John Bonham type – and so that changed the dynamics,” adds Tom. “He probably felt like he had something to prove, and in terms of creativity and pushing ourselves, his presence really made everyone step up.”

Recorded by Ross Orton (Arctic Monkeys/MIA/Drenge) at his McCall Sound Studio in Sheffield, The Haze is twelve tracks of whip-smart, unpredictable, fierce and sussed hardcore noise-pop. “When we were making our previous album Blood we were referencing a lot of Ross’s work, so it made sense to go straight to the source, and it was great to see him investing so much in the process” Rob reveals. “Ross essentially became a fifth member of the band for a month,” adds James.

Dissected and diced, one might hear elements of The Jesus Lizard, Devo, Hot Snakes, The Stooges, Krautrock, Surf-Pop, The Beatles, Black Sabbath, Captain Beefheart, QOTSA, Fugazi and T-Rex amidst its dozen tracks, but fused by electric studio performances, it’s a compelling snapshot of a rewired, recalibrated and rejuvenated rock band at the peak of their powers.

Teenage Guitar Sensation Aaron Keylock Drops new video

Teenage guitar sensation Aaron Keylock will release his highly anticipated debut album Cut Against The Grain on 20th January 2017 via Provogue/Mascot Label Group (Black Stone Cherry, Monster Truck, Big Jesus, Vola, Joe Bonamassa, Black Country Communion).

Ahead of the album release later this week he has released the video for new single  “Spin The Bottle.”

Aaron has picked up a wealth of critical praise for ‘Cut Against The Grain’ from The Daily Mirror who cited him as one of the Top Tips for 2017 as well as plaudits from BBC Radio’s Bob Harris and Alex Lester, Shindig, Classic Rock, Q, Total Guitar, Powerplay, Fireworks, R2, Blues in Britain, Blues Matters, Maverick Magazine, Guitarist plus many more.

Before releasing an official single he had already been highly touted as one of the UKs hottest acts to watch out for; Kerrang! declared him the “New Solo Superstar” in the 2015 Fresh Blood List (Alongside PVRIS, Slaves, SHVPES, Qween Kwong & Knucklepuck); at Bloodstock 2014 Metal Hammer wrote “It’s ludicrous that someone as talented as Aaron Keylock is a mere 16 years old but if anyone can shred like Gary Moore, this young buck can.” Total Guitar called him one of 2016s ‘Ones to Watch’ after seeing him at Dot to Dot saying “TG caught his set and we walked away with our brain thoroughly melted”, Classic Rock included him in the Sounds of and Class of 2015 and have called him “blistering” and a “precocious talent”.

He picked up the guitar aged 8 and by the age of 11 he was rocking the clubs in his hometown, Oxford. Already a young road rock warrior with hundreds of shows under his belt including shows at Jazz Café and Alexandra Palace in London as well as the Ace Cafe and Biker rallies across the UK where Harley Davidsons would screech on the stage around him. At 16 he supported US rockers Blackberry Smoke on their ‘Leave A Scar’ UK tour as well as their 2016 ‘Like An Arrow’ tour. The Bloodstock Festival crowd head-banged to Against The Grain in 2014 and at Download 2015 he played to a squeezed to capacity tent. Since then he has been on the road with The Answer, The Cadillac Three, The Graveltones, Wilko Johnson, Joanne Shaw-Taylor and SIMO as well as blistering sets on the 2015 festival circuit at Dot to Dot and Ramblin’ Man.

He recorded the album in LA in 2016 with producer Fabrizio Grossi who has previously worked with Alice Cooper, Dave Navarro, Slash, Ice-T, George Clinton and Zakk Wylde.  The album highlights a prodigious young British rock talent completely at one with his guitar, blasting out his first songs with a raw and powerful attitude. He showcases Americana tinged slide rock guitar in tracks such as Against The Grain, Down and Sun’s Gonna Shine whilst flashes of Gary Moore haunt the epic Just One Question and All The Right Moves. Crowd favourite Medicine Man was the first song he ever demo-ed whilst the hints of Rory Gallagher on All The Right Moves is a lightning rocker that’s fast becoming a live favourite. That’s Not Me was inspired by The Faces and No Matter What The Cost is an expressive nod towards the Allman Brothers.

Things have been building momentum and in Cut Against The Grain, Aaron Keylock is set to launch himself on the world full throttle.

White Lies release new video for track ‘Don’t Want To Feel It All’

White Lies have released a new video for track ‘Don’t Want To Feel It All‘, taken from current album ‘Friends’ released late 2016. The video was directed by Alex Alvarez and shows White Lies during their recent European tour at the Sala Razzmatazz, Barcelona and Sala Marco Aldany in Madrid.

I don’t wanna feel it all, but don’t wanna lose it.”

The ten-track album ‘Friends’ is now available on CDvinylpicture discdigital download and streaming formats, as well as a special box set edition which includes a cassette and four exclusive bonus tracks.

Too Many Santa’s – video release Maxwell / Miranda / Parsley

Brooklyn Vegan has shared the video for “Too Many Santas”, the newest single from Maxwell / Miranda / Parsley’s recently released holiday album entitled ‘Catskill Christmas’. The trio previous released the single for “Going To Get The Tree” on Brooklyn Vegan as well as the video on CLRVYNT. The album is out now via Dangerbird Records.

Thinking  it  a  wise  investment  of  time,  our  three  kings  spent  a  few  days  one  summer recording  a  Christmas  EP.  They  delighted  in  jingle  bells  and  BBQ,  while  taking  shelter from  the usual  dark  and  complicated  matter from  which their  songs usually  spring,  and frolicked   in   baubles,   holiday   weight   gain   and   the   loveliest   lie   ever   told.   This unsurprisingly became a summer tradition of theirs, and three years later, an album was born in a puff of smoke, under the brightest of stars.

‘Twas the end of the summer
and soon to be fall
When three tipsy minstrels
did hear a faint call

Whistling o’er mountain
and through the dark wood

A whisper of winter
Done blew through the ‘hood

They were several pints low
And searching for merry

Each knee deep in debt
a mortgage to carry

They tried to be cheery
despite the foreboding

But it’s hard for a minstrel
(‘cuz illegal downloading)

Now Miranda was humming
and clearing the dishes

Whilst Parsley was rolling
and rhyming up wishes

Good Maxwell sat fishing
through a wee bowl of candy

When “Screw it!” he chimed
and uncorked the brandy…

Aaron Keylock: All The Right Moves Video Release

Teenage guitar sensation Aaron Keylock will release his highly anticipated debut album Cut Against The Grain on 20th January 2017 via Provogue/Mascot Label Group (Black Stone Cherry, Monster Truck, Big Jesus, Vola, Joe Bonamassa)

Before releasing an official single he has already been highly touted as one of the UKs hottest acts to watch out for; Kerrang! declared him the “New Solo Superstar” in the 2015 Fresh Blood List (Alongside PVRIS, Slaves, SHVPES, Qween Kwong & Knucklepuck); at Bloodstock 2014 Metal Hammer wrote “It’s ludicrous that someone as talented as Aaron Keylock is a mere 16 years old but if anyone can shred like Gary Moore, this young buck can.” Total Guitar called him one of 2016s ‘Ones to Watch’ after seeing him at Dot to Dot saying “TG caught his set and we walked away with our brain thoroughly melted”, Classic Rock included him in the Sounds of and Class of 2015 and have called him “blistering” and a “precocious talent”.

He picked up the guitar aged 8 and by the age of 11 he was rocking the clubs in his hometown, Oxford. Already a young road rock warrior with hundreds of shows under his belt; at age 12 he was arguing with club doormen who wouldn’t let him into venues he was booked to play, he performed at the historic Jazz Café and Alexandra Palace in London as well as the Ace Café. He’s played Biker rallies across the UK where Harley Davidsons would screech on the stage around him, filling the room with smoke during the gigs.

By the time he was 13 years old he was playing every night of the week and met modern guitar icon Joe Bonamassa who gave the young Aaron advice from his time as a young guitar hero; aged 14 he was bundled out of the backdoor of the Camden Blues Kitchen as the London Riots raged across the city; at 16 he supported US rockers Blackberry Smoke on their ‘Leave A Scar’ UK tour, bedding down in shops after each show with one night sleeping in a workshop surrounded by motorbikes, rifles, snakes and a 9 foot python.

The Bloodstock Festival crowd head-banged to Against The Grain in 2014 and at Download 2015 he played to a squeezed to capacity tent. Since then, he has gone back on tour with Blackberry Smoke for the 2016 ’Like An Arrow’ tour, been on the road with The Answer, The Cadillac Three, The Graveltones, Wilko Johnson, Joanne Shaw-Taylor and Dan Patlansky as well as blistering sets on the 2015 festival circuit at Dot to Dot and Ramblin’ Man.

The young gunslinger headed to LA to record Cut Against The Grain in 2016 with producer Fabrizio Grossi who has previously worked with Alice Cooper, Dave Navarro, Slash, Ice-T, George Clinton and Zakk Wylde.

Talking about the album Aaron reflects; “Just One Question was probably the first song I ever wrote when I was 13. Musically and lyrically it was just a blues song and it’s funny to think it’s still with me and that I’ve been playing it for almost 5 years!” Continuing he adds “Against the Grain was penned about 3 years ago now and has grown on the road; I had a Led Zeppelin style riff, mixed it with some Johnny Winter vibe and stamped my own style on it.”  Crowd favourite Medicine Man was the first song he ever demo-ed whilst the hints of Rory Gallagher on All The Right Moves is a lightning rocker that’s fast becoming a live favourite.

Down has 3 different time signatures and oozes positivity about keeping strong and believing in yourself, That’s Not Me was inspired by The Faces and No Matter What The Cost is an expressive nod towards the Allman Brothers . “I guess what I’ve always loved about Rock n’ Roll is that you’re free to express yourself in many ways and to use many guitar techniques to convey different emotions…My influences really vary!” he adds.

Falling Again was a song I wrote about trying to find my way through rock n roll as a 16 year old kid and Try is about feeling lost and trying to find somewhere that felt like home. I guess growing up in a small village in Oxfordshire and being the one 70’s inspired long haired hippie kid kind of influenced me as songwriter trying to find something to say.”

Things have been building momentum and in Cut Against The Grain, Aaron Keylock is set to launch himself on the world full throttle.
