Enter Shikari Release Live Video of ‘Redshift’ from Ally Pally

Enter Shikari today unveil a live video for recent single ‘Redshift’, recorded at the bands biggest headline show to date at London’s Alexandra Palace.
Whilst plans were afoot to release the whole show visually in some way or another, technology had other ideas; and so the band members jumped in to salvage what they could, in the DIY fashion that has become their stock-in-trade.
We’ll let frontman Rou Reynolds elaborate :
“After such a spectacle, we decided to cobble together and edit the footage from the jumbotrons on the night. Unfortunately a lot of the crowd footage was warped and unusable, but we were only able to put together one great track rather a whole show, but we hope this’ll give yous an idea of the energy on the night. As I edited the video, Rory and our engineer / foxy hunk Tim Morris edited the audio too.

Being such a DIY tour  – programming the video screen content and 4.1 surround sound mix ourselves, for example – it seems only right and proper that we apply that approach to the documentation of the show too. Victory snatched from the jaws of defeat, and all that”.

Full audio from the show does, however, exist. It is currently at mixing stage and will move into the “what are we doing with it now we have it?” stage very soon.

Enter Shikari are spending the summer appearing at various European festivals (including a one-off 5000 capacity outdoor headline show in Budapest, Hungary), and will end their working year with tours of Japan & Australia, while demoing new material filling in the gaps in the diary.

Lounge Kittens Cover AC/DC – Dirty Deeds [video]

Tired of waiting for the release of their debut album ‘Sequins & C-Bombs’, alt-harmony group The Lounge Kittens, have proffered their first video from the as yet undisclosed track listing. A tongue-in-cheek twist on AC/DC’s killer classic ‘Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap’ sees the girls return to office jobs… as hitmen with a difference.

The album doesn’t come out till September and frankly, we’re bored of keeping it all a secret” says Blue Kitten, Timia. “So we thought right, time to make some more videos – it’s been AGES.”

And it seems there’s a lot more to come… “Whilst there’s some debate raging about which songs to release from the album and what would make a good single and blah, blah we decided we didn’t have enough to do so set ourselves the challenge of releasing a brand new video every month until the end of the year.” Zan Kitten (the Pink one) tells us.
The videos are what the fans want. It’s what we’re best known for” chimes in the little Red one, Jen “and they’re really fun to make! For example, this one we filmed over two night shoots, after working all day. But what’s more fun than hunting people through the streets of London armed with fistfuls of glitter!?!

Releasing this trail of videos on the 16th of the month, every month means we might as well stick a recurring reminder in our diaries and write off any thoughts of achieving anything on the 16th of the month now, as we’ll be glued to YouTube, eagerly awaiting the drop of the next instalment. “That’s exactly it, yeah. Now you all know the schedule, you know where you have to be and when… but not what to expect!” confirms Zan.

We’ve wanted to do an AC/DC track for ages, the only question was WHICH ONE?” enthuses Jen. “With so many bangers to choose from, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap was the shy one hiding round the corner, just to the side of some of the more well-known hits squeaking ‘pick me, pick me’ and it totally works as a Kitten track.”
It’s so much fun to sing live” says Timia Kitten “like a cross between a smoke-filled backroom, speakeasy and a good ole knees up round the Joanna. We’ll definitely be busting it out at Stone Free Festival this weekend.”

Jedward Give Us Good Vibes in New Video

Good Vibes 3

Irish duo Jedward dropped their latest single, ‘Good Vibes’, on 25 March. It was preceded by a video released on 17 March, in honour of St Patrick’s Day.

Good Vibes 10

A glossy, slick video with a 90s vibe, the song opens up on gorgeous scenes in and around Los Angeles, including Santa Monica, Runyon Canyon, and bridges over the Los Angeles River, in downtown LA.

Good Vibes 9

‘Good Vibes’ is a funky, feel good track, making you want to get up and dance – it’s got a real 90s boyband flavour, which isn’t surprising considering the Dublin twins honed their early singing skills lipsynching to the tunes of Backstreet Boys and ‘N Sync.

Good Vibes 1

Known for their creative independence, ‘Good Vibes’ is the sixth track from Jedward’s as yet unreleased fourth album, with all songs written and produced by them. Not only that, the video has been made by them as well – from storyboarding, videoing, directing, editing, right up to uploading on Youtube and VEVO. It’s no amateur effort. Shot in 4K, the video is cinema quality.

Have a look now (and make sure to view in 4K):

You can find Jedward online on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Google+. Check out their videos on JedwardTV and Jedward VEVO.

Beartooth – This Is The Sound Of Your Children Revolting

Beartooth‘s frontman Caleb Shomo is one of the most engaging front men in modern rock music.

Check out this powerful video for Beaten In Lips one of the tracks on Beartooth’s debut album Disgusting.  As you will see it is a powerful message highlighting domestic abuse against children.  It is both thought provoking and powerful.

After a stunning performance on the third stage at last years Download Festival the boys are back this year to show the main-stage crowd what they are made of.

The Glass Child – The Year I Disappeared

Charlotte Eriksson [The Glass Child] is back with the first song from her forthcoming album.

Launching a crowdfunding campaign for her latest offering Charlotte said “For my last record I said that I wanted to build up storms inside of people; make them think and leave a mark.”

“With this record and with these songs, I’d like instead to throw out a soft blanket during dark nights. I’d like to shelter when it’s cold and comfort when you’re lost. I’d like the record to be like northern lights, lightning up the sky; something to follow when you simply don’t know where to go. Because that’s what those songs did for me. Writings these songs have kept me going.”

“My music has been my lifeline, and my wish is that these songs can be like guiding lights for someone else too.”

I have been a massive fan of the Glass Child’s music ever since I stumbled across her music via Twitter of all things.  If this track is anything to go by I am sure Charlotte will achieve her ambition of wrapping the listener in a warm blanket.  It is a beautiful piece.
