WWE DRAFT RUMORS: ‘SUPERSTAR SHAKEUP’ BOOST ‘MONDAY NIGHT RAW’ AT ‘SMACKDOWN’S’ EXPENSE?

The WWE Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live shows in the aftermath of WrestleMania are always fascinating, and this year is no exception. The WrestleMania 33 results suggested that we had seen something of a changing of the guard. Roman Reigns vs. The Undertaker saw a victory for Reigns, and The Undertaker announced his retirement by leaving his hat, coat, and gloves, in the ring as he departed the arena. SmackDown star AJ Styles, defeated Shane McMahon and then extend the hand of friendship to McMahon, seemingly bring their WrestleMania 33 feud to an end.

WWE RUMORS: ROMAN REIGNS AND AJ STYLES SET FOR FACE TURNS AND AN EPIC FEUD?

Roman Reigns and AJ Styles are two of the WWE networks most important assets. Reigns is hardly the WWE’s most popular superstar. The “Big Dog” is booed every time he enters the ring, and logic would dictate that, his beating The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33, effectively retiring the Deadman, will do little to boost his popularity. Reigns has been pushed as the face of Monday Night Raw for some time. Where Reigns has now been a WWE wrestling star for over five-years, AJ Styles is a relative newcomer to the WWE network.

John Cena News: WWE Proposals For Post WrestleMania Engagements For Cena And Bella

When John Cena returned to the WWE network after a lengthy hiatus, he came right back to the top of the card. Cena’s first match back, after a break to make movies, was against AJ Styles at the 2017 Royal Rumble. That match saw Cena equal Ric Flair’s record of 16 world championship titles. Cena’s hold on the title did not last for long, he lost it to Bray Wyatt at the Elimination Chamber just two-weeks later.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, some in the WWE universe believed that Cena was only given such a high-profile match because of his connections to the McMahon family through Nikki Bella. SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan is Bella’s step-father. To be fair, Cena and Bella didn’t exactly receive top-billing at WrestleMania 33. One would have expected the 16-time world champion to be involved in a high-profile bout. The fans certainly wanted to see Cena face The Undertaker.

ON THE UNDERTAKER’S RETIREMENT AT WWE ‘WRESTLEMANIA 33’, HIS BEST EVER MATCHES

The Undertaker is quite simply the biggest name of them all when it comes to the WWE, and to professional wrestling in general. The fact that almost all the reporting, on last night’s WrestleMania 33, is about The Undertaker’s retirement, speaks volumes about The Deadman’s popularity. Of course, many in the WWE universe will lament The Undertaker’s retirement. The “Taker of Souls” has been one of the WWE’s top stars for almost three-decades. As reported earlier on the Inquisitr, with time running out on the 52-year-old Undertaker’s career, it was perhaps inevitable, and appropriate that he should take his final bow at WrestleMania.

Roman Reigns News: WWE WrestleMania 33 Elevates The Big Dog To Top Dog

Roman Reigns is the man the WWE universe loves to hate. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, last night over 75,000 fans at Orlando’s Citrus Bowl and a worldwide TV audience saw Reigns defeat The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33. In doing so, Reigns sent The Undertaker to only his second defeat at the WWE’s “Show of Shows.” By doing so, Reigns ensured that The Undertaker ended his career with a defeat. Of course, the WWE universe would love to have seen The Undertaker end his career by bringing the “Big Dog” to heel, but the WWE has other plans.

WWE News: The Undertaker Retires With Dignity after WrestleMania 33 Loss

WWE WrestleMania 33 will live long in the memory as The Undertaker retires after loss to Roman Reigns. As recently predicted in the Inquisitr, WrestleMania 33 had the look of “out with the old, in with the new.” The card was packed with matches between active WWE superstars and those who are in the twilight of their careers. All those matches went in the manner predicted, with the exception of The Undertaker vs. Roman Reigns. Let’s face it, The Undertaker is a WrestleMania legend, The Phenom dominated the event for over 20 years, but all good things must come to an end.

WWE WrestleMania 33 Rumors: Major Roles for Samoa Joe, Finn Balor and the Hardy Boyz

WWE WrestleMania 33 weekend has finally arrived. On Sunday April 2, the WWE’s “Show of Shows” rolls in to Orlando, Florida, and as usual the WrestleMania card is packed with matches that will leave the WWE universe enthralled. Last year, WrestleMania 32 attracted reviews that were, to be kind, somewhat mixed. WrestleMania 33 promises to be an entirely different beast.

The WWE network are treating us to no fewer than eight huge title bouts at Orlando’s Citrus Bowl. All of the WWE’s biggest stars have a role to play in the promotion of wrestling and sports entertainment, and the year’s biggest PPV event is of critical importance to the WWE. There is no denying that WrestleMania 33 feels different to past events. As recently reported in the Inquisitr, WrestleMania 33 has the feel of a fresh broom sweeping across the network.
