If you are a photographers using the digital medium you have no doubt been told hundreds of times not to delete photographs in camera unless you can see that are a total disaster. Last night brough this home to me.
I was sat at home with not a lot to do last evening just before sunset. The cloud was breaking and it looked like it might be a decent sunset. I haven’t done any landscape photography for months so I grabbed my camera and tripod and headed to holes bay, about a mile from home.
i was a bit disappointed with the sunset, too many clouds right on the horizon and too few right above so i wasn’t very hopeful. I had a quick flick through what I had and was about to delete a load as I thought the shots were pretty mediocre. I decided to have a look on screen first and was rather pleased with some of the results. These are pretty much as shot, just a touch of contrast added in Lightroom and a little boost of the mid-tones. I’m pretty pleased with the results.
What do you think? As always any feedback positive or negative is very welcome.
I am taking on a challenge to post a photograph every day for a full year startingon New years Day. Please join in by uploading a photograph of your own and leaving a pingback here 🙂
I didn’t have my camera with me this afternoon as I walked the dogs and did the school run. Typically there was a pretty dramatic sky, thankfully the iPhone came to the rescue and I managed some decent snaps.
