WWE superstar John Cena, returns to the ring on Sunday for the 2017 Royal Rumble. Of course, Cena is not competing in the battle royal himself, instead Cena gets the opportunity to win his 16th world championship. Many were surprised when it was announced that Cena would face off against 2016 sensation AJ Styles, in a world championship bout. After all, Cena rarely enters the ring these days, his film and TV work keeps him busy elsewhere. Nonetheless, AJ Styles vs. John Cena is a mouthwatering prospect for WWE wrestling fans.
Fans of the WWE network will know that the annual Royal Rumble takes place at San Antonio’s Alamodome this coming Sunday, January 29. The 60,000-seat arena plays host to what is the most open Royal Rumble for many years. The official WWE website has listed a total of 18 entrants for the 2017 Royal Rumble, and the lineup includes some huge names. The Undertaker, Bill Goldberg, and Brock Lesnar are just a few of the huge names already declared for this year’s Royal Rumble, but the supporting cast is the strongest for many years.
WWE wrestling fans don’t need to be told that The Undertaker has been one of the biggest attractions in wrestling for over 25 years. As recently reported in the Inquisitr, The Undertaker has been installed as the bookmakers favorite to win the 2017 Royal Rumble, which takes place this coming Sunday, January 29. The Undertaker was installed as the Royal Rumble favorite after appearing on Monday Night Raw two weeks ago to announce that he would participate. In recent years, the Deadman has only tended to appear at WrestleMania, the WWE’s annual showcase event.
