Having just delivered the first sonic attack since their 2014 album, Blood, with new single ‘The Big What If’, Leeds’s Pulled Apart By Horses reveal a surreal new music video to match.

“For this video we buddied up with close acquaintances and immersed ourselves in the beautifully absurd world of Lord Whitney”, drummer Tommy Davidson reveals. “Pushing ourselves to new physical and mental limits, we took part in an experiment to battle the effects of sleep deprivation. We went to desperate measures to remain conscious, things got weird and we found ourselves trapped somewhere between the stark reality of a bare hospital ward and a harsh, surreal dystopian landscape.”

Pulled Apart By Horses tour the UK through March and April of 2017, ahead of which they join Twin Atlantic for three consecutive Glasgow shows this December 2016. ‘The Big What If’ was recorded at McCall Sound in Sheffield with Ross Orton (Arctic Monkeys, MIA, Roots Manuva).

“From me and the other boys in the PABH camp I can safely say that we’re all overjoyed to unveil this new beast kicking and screaming into the cosmos,” reveals singer and guitarist Tom Hudson. “It was created on a diet that consisted mainly of garage rock, fuzz & a curiosity of the unknown.”

Pulled Apart By Horses are back and they’re bravely and courageously travelling to new worlds and beyond. Come follow.

A new Pulled Apart By Horses album will follow in 2017. Stay tuned.

Lounge Kittens Cover AC/DC – Dirty Deeds [video]

Tired of waiting for the release of their debut album ‘Sequins & C-Bombs’, alt-harmony group The Lounge Kittens, have proffered their first video from the as yet undisclosed track listing. A tongue-in-cheek twist on AC/DC’s killer classic ‘Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap’ sees the girls return to office jobs… as hitmen with a difference.

The album doesn’t come out till September and frankly, we’re bored of keeping it all a secret” says Blue Kitten, Timia. “So we thought right, time to make some more videos – it’s been AGES.”

And it seems there’s a lot more to come… “Whilst there’s some debate raging about which songs to release from the album and what would make a good single and blah, blah we decided we didn’t have enough to do so set ourselves the challenge of releasing a brand new video every month until the end of the year.” Zan Kitten (the Pink one) tells us.
The videos are what the fans want. It’s what we’re best known for” chimes in the little Red one, Jen “and they’re really fun to make! For example, this one we filmed over two night shoots, after working all day. But what’s more fun than hunting people through the streets of London armed with fistfuls of glitter!?!

Releasing this trail of videos on the 16th of the month, every month means we might as well stick a recurring reminder in our diaries and write off any thoughts of achieving anything on the 16th of the month now, as we’ll be glued to YouTube, eagerly awaiting the drop of the next instalment. “That’s exactly it, yeah. Now you all know the schedule, you know where you have to be and when… but not what to expect!” confirms Zan.

We’ve wanted to do an AC/DC track for ages, the only question was WHICH ONE?” enthuses Jen. “With so many bangers to choose from, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap was the shy one hiding round the corner, just to the side of some of the more well-known hits squeaking ‘pick me, pick me’ and it totally works as a Kitten track.”
It’s so much fun to sing live” says Timia Kitten “like a cross between a smoke-filled backroom, speakeasy and a good ole knees up round the Joanna. We’ll definitely be busting it out at Stone Free Festival this weekend.”

Pre-order the album now via their hugely successful PledgeMusic campaign www.pledgemusic.com/projects/tlk-sequins-and-cbombs

Jedward Give Us Good Vibes in New Video

Good Vibes 3

Irish duo Jedward dropped their latest single, ‘Good Vibes’, on 25 March. It was preceded by a video released on 17 March, in honour of St Patrick’s Day.

Good Vibes 10

A glossy, slick video with a 90s vibe, the song opens up on gorgeous scenes in and around Los Angeles, including Santa Monica, Runyon Canyon, and bridges over the Los Angeles River, in downtown LA.

Good Vibes 9

‘Good Vibes’ is a funky, feel good track, making you want to get up and dance – it’s got a real 90s boyband flavour, which isn’t surprising considering the Dublin twins honed their early singing skills lipsynching to the tunes of Backstreet Boys and ‘N Sync.

Good Vibes 1

Known for their creative independence, ‘Good Vibes’ is the sixth track from Jedward’s as yet unreleased fourth album, with all songs written and produced by them. Not only that, the video has been made by them as well – from storyboarding, videoing, directing, editing, right up to uploading on Youtube and VEVO. It’s no amateur effort. Shot in 4K, the video is cinema quality.

Have a look now (and make sure to view in 4K):

You can find Jedward online on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Google+. Check out their videos on JedwardTV and Jedward VEVO.

ASKING ALEXANDRIA Debut Video For ‘Let It Sleep’

ASKING ALEXANDRIA are perfectly poised for the biggest year of their already illustrious career with the release of their fourth full-length album, The Black (March 25th). Couple that with yet another huge North American trek with fellow countrymen, Bullet For My Valentine, starting April 30th and all the pieces are set into place.

In anticipation of the release the band are very proud to present the striking, new music video for the new disc’s opening track, ‘Let It Sleep.’ The group once again teamed up with renowned director Ramon Boutviseth (Dream Theater, Nonpoint, Veil of Maya), who also shot the band’s last video for ‘The Black.’

Ben Bruce (guitars) states: “Everyone has their inner demons. Everyone has their own mental fights they have to deal with. Don’t let them consume you. Let them serve as a reminder that things could always be worse. Fight your inner demons and find your inner peace.

Life is all about how quickly you get back up. In January 2015, everything changed for Asking Alexandria. The chart-topping, gold-selling UK hard rock outfit parted ways with singer and founding member Danny Worsnop. On the outside, the future might’ve seemed uncertain—even grim—to some, but Ben Bruce [lead guitar, vocals], James Cassells [drums], Cameron Liddell [rhythm guitar], and Sam Bettley [bass] dusted themselves off, lifted their chins, and got right back up.

We hadn’t reached our destination yet, and Danny had,” admits Bruce. “I think it was necessary. When it happened, I was devastated. I lost my best friend. We even started referring to this part of our career as ‘The Black period.’ It was the darkest time, but we weren’t going to give up. If he hadn’t left, I don’t think we would’ve been as inspired as we were. I also don’t think Asking Alexandria would still be around. Instead, we’re more excited than ever about this band.”

In order to properly do that, the band actually turned to a fan. Ukrainian singer Denis Stoff gained notoriety posting Asking Alexandria covers on YouTube and consequentially inked a deal with Sumerian Records in his band Down and Dirty. Bruce shot him an email one night. The next day, a new Asking Alexandria song had vocals and a new era in the band’s history took form.

Asking Alexandria have been announced to play at this years Reading and Leeds festivals August 26-28 2016.

In the week that we in the UK have remembered the fallen of a century of conflict it seems appropriate to reflect on the terrible waste of human life that war brings.  I have included three versions of Eric Bogles anti-war song The Green Fields of France (Willie McBride).  The first is the original my Eric Bogle.  The second by the Dropkick Murphy’s and the last by The Men They Couldn’t Hang.
